A$AP Rocky x Schoolboy Q – Back & Forth

LMFAO! I’m glad Q said something about not fighting, I hate that sh#t, waste of a fans money to have your artist jumping off the stage to go confront some punk, let your crew do that keep the tunes rolling.

Santigold – Master of My Make-Believe (album review)

I believe this is the first review that I have done that is not necessarily hip hop. People have been hyping Santigold’s new album that is set to release April 24 (UK) and May 1st (US) entitled Master of My Make-Believe. I have always considered Santigold to be one of those artist that releases some fresh songs from time to time but not an artist that I would purchase her whole album, well not until now. This new album is something extra fresh and when it drops I’m pretty sure it will have no problem living up to the hype. Well here’s what I think of each song from the album…peep… Continue reading

A$AP Rocky – Demons (video)

Here’s the video to one of the other songs that I like off the LiveLoveA$AP project. kudos to Clams Casino for another nice production. There’s just something about Rocky’s videos that draw me in. I think it’s mostly because they are raw and there’s nothing phony about them. Among all the videos that he has I mostly enjoy this one and Peso. My favorite part of this video is at 1:46. I find it funny that he said “f#ck a metrosexual, I fin to f#ck the b#tch you next to“, it’s kind of an oxymoron if you think about it, because he refers to himself as “Pretty Flacko”. (kanye shrug)

Lute – West1996 album review

As soon as I got a whiff of this I knew that it was worthy of a review. Especially since Lute is reppin for NC, kudos. When I found out that he was from Charlotte my first thoughts were, oh shit this might be some rugged music. Lute is one of those artist that you see on random blogs and you kind of blow off like welp another rapper that I could listen to and he will probably disappoint me, BUT NOT IN THIS CASE. When I first heard his first song I was blown away, first of all I couldn’t believe NC hit it out of the park with another talented MC besides J.Cole and then I was amazed that his music was actually on that level to be the next one to take over the underground. For those not in the know the album is titled West1996 for two reasons. 1 – Lute is from the west side of Charlotte (shout out to the 704), 2 – he was first introduced to hip hop in 1996 when he was 7 years old. Just a little background, now let’s get into it. Continue reading

Kid Cudi & Dot Da Genius (WZRD) – WZRD (album review)

Seeing that people have been bashing this album all over the web and very few people seem to like it, I had to get me a copy and do this review. I wasn’t too familiar with what type of concept they were aiming for on this project but I kind of a had a feeling once Cudi announced his sobriety a while back. It’s pretty interesting to see what they could make especially after hearing about his writer’s block issue as well. Aight let’s get into it. Continue reading
