I feel like I can be the man of year, you could too. enjoy
I love when this joint comes on while I’m playing Grand Theft Auto 5. It makes me want to dish whatever ride I’m in and go and jack a ol skool whip, then head over to Los Santos Customs for the pimp treatment. I like this song because the beat is so groovy and mellow. The way 100s flows on it has that pimp slang to it. Reminds me of Short Dawg. I got to listen to more of his music. Enjoy!
Definitely feeling this joint. Sounds like Cudi is getting back to a good place, no more Jamie songs perhaps? Peep Continue reading
This week’s selection comes from a HP commercial. I heard the song playing in the background and it had a crazy amount of energy, so I just had to have it. Needle to vein, OD’ed. The reverb on this joint is so ill. I don’t know much about this band, seeing that I just got my first listen to them not too long ago, but I will be checking out their album ‘Welcome Reality‘. If this continues the mixtape for the song of the week series will have an overload of energy. Enjoy this week’s selection. Continue reading
No idea where or when I found this song but I do remember listening to it all of the time whenever I acquired it. I had to resort to wikipedia to find out who the artist is and try to figure out what album this joint came from. Evidently this week’s selection comes from French-Israeli artist Yael Naim. The song has a nice feel to it, probably heard it in some commercial and sought it out. So here’s this week’s selection… Continue reading
This week’s selection was chosen after I was scavenging through my mp3’s to see what I had that I really liked. I have to say that this song is a bit odd but that drum pattern was so funky that I was instantly drawn to it. I believe that I first heard this group and this song off a commercial. Can’t remember which commercial though. So here’s this week’s selection… Continue reading
I don’t know what sparked this urge in my head today but I have been searching for Dr. Dre’s “The Chronic” on and off all day today. For some reason everytime I would ask somebody if they had that Chronic album by Dr. Dre they would say “yea” and then I find out it’s the 2001 version they got, smh. Itunes nor Amazon had this joint for download. I finally had to make the executive decision and rush to Best Buys before they closed so I hopped in the hoopty and burned rubber to get there 5 minutes before they closed the doors. Just got home and cracked open the plastic! Please sit down and take this ride with me. Continue reading
Ever since them Hot 97 freestyles with the whole Roc A Fella crew I have been a fan of Omillio Sparks. He rapped about them real world situations and the street life. When said something he meant it and you could hear the emotion in his voice. One particular verse stood out to me that he rhymed during the freestyles, now I can’t get it out of my mind. The verse was lifted from Beanie Siegel’s “Tales of a Hustler” off his The Reason album. The song is really nice so listen to it and really dig into these lyrics from Sparks Continue reading
