Wiz Khalifa – ONIFC (album review)

To tell you the truth I almost forgot about this album this year. But with the release of Taylor Allderdice I had to take a listen to Wiz’s newest project. I figured that this album would get me heated especially after that “Work Hard, Play Hard” bull that he put out. Anyways here’s what you can expect to hear if you haven’t purchased this album yet. Crazy Verse: Juicy J – Lockdown

The Juiceman used to lay down some sick ass verses back in the day, some may say that he still does. This particular verse comes from the Triple Six song ‘Lockdown’ from my favorite album of theirs ‘Vol.3 Kings of Memphis’. The beat might capture your head first but then as you listen closely to Juice’s verse you will be instantly thrown into the concept of the song. It’s kind of surprising listening to the verse today because I failed to recognize the lyrical talent back when I first heard it. The verse was relative and very descriptive. Peep.

me and paul in a hopeless cell
waitin to use the fuckin phone
waitin to get a fuckin bell
some people think 2 on 1 is just a place for cops and robbers
niggas still smokin weed constantly, passing dollars
mase in yo face when it’s time to get buckwild
cuz lawyer fees are high as hell
payin these can’t even help my trial
So while I’m thinkin to myself
a nigga walked right up to me
lookin me up and down wit a frown
smellin like a bottle of Crown Continue reading

It’s just been recently that I have been enjoying some tracks off that album and I have taken an interest in his style. I think it’s his persona that pulled most people into his music. The second big thing would probably be Amber Rose and thirdly the people that have been down with his music since the underground days. Satch has shown his respects for Wiz in the past but I have always been stand off ish when it came to his music. Luckily he released a new mixtape the other day and I was able to get my hands on it. So here’s what it sounds like to me… Continue reading
