You dont see tracks like these everyday so I cherish them dearly when one is released. 10+ minutes and the whole joint is nice, your ears will be tuned in fully. I would have liked to have 10 but I only found 5 that were worthy. Totaling over 67MB and 70 minutes, these are worth the time and hard drive space. Get a listen. Continue reading

Good Read: Oddisee Breaks Down His 15 Most Essential Songs
I always like to hear the backstory behind tracks from artists, producers, whoever. Oddisee broke down 15 of his tracks with a thorough explanation for each. If you got 20 mins or so, this is an interesting read from one of the best producer/emcees out. Check it out over at Pigeons and Planes.
Streets Wont Let Me Chill
Oddisee: “Back to us putting our stamp. That vocal sample on the hook is from [popular Go-Go group] Backyard Band’s frontman. I was listening to a clip on YouTube of Smoke, the conga player. And the frontman was hyping up the conga player, and somewhere right in the middle, he was like, ‘The streets won’t let me chill!’ And I was like, ‘Oh, that’s it.’ If you listen to that sample, there’s a crazy, rapid sound in the back. And that’s a conga. So again, it’s that whole, east coast vibe, but come down 95 South a bit more. Continue reading
How many artist lie in their verses?? Not sure but I know one who does…
For a long time I have been wanting to do this. To clear up some confusion, if there is any, I understand that some artist may exaggerate their lyrics in order to make a point or send a message. I also understand that artist are allowed to rap from the prospective of people they know or just characters they may portray. I respect artist for taking advantage of their creativity for the betterment of mankind but there’s a time when you have to draw the line. So let me bring to your attention a particular verse by the artist known as Uncle Murda that I have to call shenanigans on. Continue reading
Freeway Releases a new song from his Upcoming Album…
Another nice track from Freeway and Jake One called Listen. Let’s be honest, the intro of the song is sketchy. It starts out sounding like it may sound like a Lil’ Mama song but Jake One doesn’t fail us and laces in those keys which are so soothing. Peep Continue reading
Some of the best statement verses…Part 1
Every now and then you have a new artist thats on a record that just steals the show and bodies the track. They are making a statement like “I’m nice”. Well here were a few I could think of…
Cormega on Mobb Deep’s “What’s Your Poison” (1999)
Fairly new at the time, Cormega easily stole the show on this. His flow and the lyrical venom he spit was just incredible. At this point, you knew he would be great. Continue reading
Jake One who is this guy?
As of lately I have been feeling some random songs from various artist and I have noticed a pattern for my recent preference. Most of the songs that I have been digging have been produced by Jake One. Continue reading
Forgotten Verse….Oschino
I’ve been wanting to post this verse for a while now. I don’t even know if people even remember Oschino from State Property but I do and he spit this verse during that Rocafella/Hot 97 takeover that was sooo real. His flow ain’t the best and that Oochie Wallie Beat don’t help it either but if you listen to the words they are so real. The imagery and the reality of his story is crazy. When I heard this I was like damn. Peep
