It literally feels like it has been forever since we’ve had a new album from Black Milk. Whats even crazier is that I get a new album from one of my favorite producers this month and Satch gets a new album from one of his favorite producers, Oddisee, as well. I’m kind of anxious to hear what this new Black Milk sounds like so let’s dive into it. Continue reading

An Album That Will Get Your Creative Juices Flowing
Sometimes whenever I’m in a jam, creatively, I like to throw on some music to help me move forward and get out all of my ideas. I usually needs something that’s easy to listen to, something that isn’t overrun by a heavy bassline or thumping drums. I prefer something that’s simple but the overall product may have some type of complexity to it. Luckily I had something provided for me in our inbox that helped me to get back on the right path. This album called Dust & Loops by Gated contained just the right elements. From the way it starts off with the song entitled Continue reading
5 Reasons Why You Should Listen to Ryan Alexy’s Bright Lights Dark Nights
So I was checking the inbox again this morning and listening to some submissions and I came across this beat tape submission entitled “Bright Lights Dark Nights”. For those of you who know me, you already know that I’m not a big instrumental guy so for me to sign off on a beat it might be worth a listen. So I took a chance and listened to this beat tape because I know we had posted a song from an artist that he had worked with before by the name of KADDIE LAK. So here’s the reasons why you should listen to this new project by Ryan “Ryu” Alexy. Continue reading

New Odd and DOM albums on the same day, it’s gonna be a pleasant October for music! This song is from his upcoming mixtape “Tangible Dreams” which comes with his new instrumental album “The Beauty in All”.
“SEE HOW HAPPY HE GET!?!!”
Start at 1:35-ish. This clip always keep my laughing, Timbo and Busta chilling in the studio. Busta starts playing with Timbaland’s keyboard and the excitement on his face when he finds a catchy loop is priceless. hahaha. “SEE HOW HAPPY HE GET!?!?”
“Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh!”
Did this track ever come out? No idea. If yall know, let me know.
The Beat Suite: THC
So Ashley O did this interview a while back and I’m just now checking it out. I had no idea who was part of THC for the longest. This was a pretty good interview.
Chuck Inglish – Droptops EP (album review)
The release of this project kind of caught me by surprise. Now the first thing that pops in my head is will his solo album, Convertibles, still drop on May 31st?? I sure hope so because When Fish Ride Bicycles left a sour taste in my mouth. Chuck usually doesn’t drop any mixtapes except for instrumentals so my expectations for this project were a collage of singles that he released over the past year. Nevertheless it deserves some attention. Continue reading
Bas – Quarter Water Raised Me Vol. ii Album Review
So I got a little treat in the inbox and it’s from an artist that I haven’t heard much from before. Dude is on DreamVille so he gotta have some heat. I’m curious about a few things and that’s will he sound like J.Cole, if not has he found his voice, does his sound blend right in with all of the monkey say monkey do shit that’s out today, and finally can he make me a fan. This should be interesting so let’s get into it. Continue reading
THC – Now Dream
THC- Now Dream from Produced By THC on Vimeo.
At this point I’m scared to click on the play button for anything that they release. The product has been so good that I’m afraid of the day when my high expectation meet a harsh reality. For now I’m lay back and chill to this Now Dream.
Chance the Rapper – Acid Rap (Album Review)
It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these but the timing is right. With this new Chance the Rapper mixtape we will get to see how he has developed as an artist since his debut release 10day. I have been paying attention to what he’s been working on lately and who he works with so this should be interesting. So let’s get into it. Continue reading
