Another Album That You Don’t Want to Miss Out On This Year

It’s nice to hear a song from a band that you have never heard of and like it. It’s even better when that band releases a full album without all of the promotional timeline bull@#@t and it’s actually worthy of playing all the way through without skipping a single track. This is rare in the indie world.

Made in Japan has managed to do that with the release of their new album Tame All Those Thoughts. My first encounter with the band came after I heard their song Follow the Leader. I thought of this band to be similar to Panama but with more free energy and a bit more experimental. For some reason I am surprised by the quality of this new album. The album starts out with a song called Continue reading

An Album That Will Get Your Creative Juices Flowing

Sometimes whenever I’m in a jam, creatively, I like to throw on some music to help me move forward and get out all of my ideas. I usually needs something that’s easy to listen to, something that isn’t overrun by a heavy bassline or thumping drums. I prefer something that’s simple but the overall product may have some type of complexity to it. Luckily I had something provided for me in our inbox that helped me to get back on the right path. This album called Dust & Loops by Gated contained just the right elements. From the way it starts off with the song entitled Continue reading

The One Album That You Should Not Miss Out On This Year

So lately I have been cleaning up the inbox and taking time to respond to emails. I have been listening to a lot of submitted music as well and responding with feedback. I did notice that a group that I have listened to before called The Procussions recently released a new self titled album. I had to listen to their new project because I know one of their songs gets heavy rotations on one of my pod playlists. I was excited to hear it and at the same time I was skeptic because these days you can’t get your hopes up on receiving a solid album from new artists. I will have to tell you that I was very satisfied with what I heard and just wanted to share my thoughts on the project. Continue reading

Let Me Introduce You to P-Funk the King

So I have been a fan of P-Funk ever since I first heard ‘Everybody Gotta Eat’. I believe he was the first person that I heard rhyme over Clams Casino’s “I’m God” beat. P-Funk hails from San Francisco and is part of the Risky Biz crew. He is growing as an artist and has some tracks that are worthy of your precious space on your pod. After the release of his new project 14KT Fangs & A Hockey Mask I feel that I need to bring him to our audience. So here, take a listen to these songs, if you like what you hear then check out his new project, here, otherwise to each his own. Enjoy! Continue reading

Song of the Week (outside of hip hop) Mixtape!!

I have had some pretty good responses to these series of post and to celebrate such a long run I have compiled all of the past songs of the week. Just in time for the 4th of July road trip or if you just want something to play at your event. This is the first mixtape of the series and I believe that it has a nice spread of music, from music by Nirvana to songs by Santigold. After looking at the tracklist I realized that I have more songs to share, I originally thought that I had already posted them but I will continue sharing next week. Thanks for the continued support and enjoy the holiday week!! Tracklist, online stream, and download after the link Continue reading

Radio Galaxy samples a Kid Cudi song??

It’s hard to write and watch the All Star game at the same time but I must let others know what I heard before I forget about it. So today I was doing some cleaning and I decided to blast Kid Cudi’s ‘Man on the Moon’ album since his new project is scheduled to release this Tuesday! So by now everybody knows how that album goes and what level the music is on. It has some space age to it and most of the tracks reflect that theme. So I get to one track from the album called “Enter Galactic (Love Connection Pt. 1)” and Continue reading
