It’s hard to write and watch the All Star game at the same time but I must let others know what I heard before I forget about it. So today I was doing some cleaning and I decided to blast Kid Cudi’s ‘Man on the Moon’ album since his new project is scheduled to release this Tuesday! So by now everybody knows how that album goes and what level the music is on. It has some space age to it and most of the tracks reflect that theme. So I get to one track from the album called “Enter Galactic (Love Connection Pt. 1)” and I can’t help but to recognize a familiar tune. So I’m like ‘hey I’ve heard this groove before’ and I’m pretty sure that somebody has sampled this before. I did some research and I could not find a sample for this song. Check it out
Kid Cudi – Enter Galactic (Love Connection Pt.1)
If you listen to the first 15 seconds of the song you might recognize a familiar melody as well. In order for me to process where else I heard this melody from I started to hum it and try to hear the words of the other song in my head. After a while it came to me and I was like “bingo” I know where it came from or who used it. So listen to the first 12 seconds of this song.
Radio Galaxy – Out of Control
I believe that Radio Galaxy used that same melody for their song. Obviously the tone of the piano note is much deeper and the tempo might be a tad bit slower. The hihats and the hits from Cudi’s song are filtered and replaced by louder, more powerful hits on Radio Galaxy’s version. I’m not sure if this is 100% correct but I think there is a good chance that it could be. If this is true I would have to say that I prefer ‘Out of Control’ over ‘Enter Galactic’. An interesting theory, I would love to know what others think?
Look out for that WZRD project Feb.28!
